Access to medically assisted reproduction treatment is governed by the Reproductive Medicine Act (RMA) and its Ordinance (RMO). Such treatment is permitted in Switzerland only if other treatment methods have failed or are hopeless due to a couple’s infertility or if there is no other way to avoid the risk of transmitting a serious, incurable disease to its progeny.
