Organ donation: Federal Council and Parliament in favor of objection solution with inclusion of relatives
The Federal Council and Parliament want to increase patients' chances of receiving an organ and therefore revise the regulation of organ donation : Those who do not wish to donate their organs must explicitly state it during their lifetime (objection solution). On 15 May 2022, voters will decide on a corresponding amendment to the Transplantation Act. It also regulates that relatives can refuse an organ donation if they know or suspect that the person concerned would have decided against it. A referendum was held against the law.
