Covid-19: Overview of the development of case numbers and the utilisation of the health care system
At its meeting on 29 June 2022, the Federal Council was informed about the current situation of the Covid-19 pandemic and the outlook for autumn 2022. The number of infections with the coronavirus is currently increasing again. However, according to current knowledge, the current sub-variants of Omikron do not lead to more severe courses than the previous sub-variants. An overload of the health care system is currently assumed. The Federal Council has also decided to extend the mandate for the transfer of a total of 15 million doses of Covid-19 vaccine until the end of 2022 if they cannot be used in Switzerland.
