The government includes preventive measures against breast and ovarian cancer in the basic health insurance benefits catalog
Starting from 2024, the compulsory health insurance (Obligatorische Krankenpflegeversicherung, OKP) will cover the costs for preventive breast and ovarian removal surgeries for specific high-risk genes. This aims to prevent breast and ovarian cancer in individuals with significantly elevated risks for these conditions.
