Swissmedic has launched the SwissGMDP database (Website), providing public access to GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) and GDP (Good Distribution Practice) certificates for all authorized Swiss pharmaceutical companies. This new platform enhances the exchange of information between regulatory authorities, industry stakeholders, and the public. The SwissGMDP database lists all valid establishment license holders and their locations, making electronic GMP and GDP certificates available.

The SwissGMDP database replaces the previous table of establishment license holders on the Swissmedic website, improving transparency and accessibility of relevant data. Users can quickly and easily verify the validity and scope of an operating license, including sites, licensed activities, and GMP or GDP status. The database offers features such as public access, free-of-charge access to electronic GMP and GDP certificates, and the ability to create Excel reports based on specific search criteria, including Switzerland-specific activities.

By facilitating the verification of legitimate players in the medicinal product and active substance distribution chain, the SwissGMDP strengthens the protection of public health. This centralized resource supports both regulatory authorities and the pharmaceutical industry in ensuring compliance and safeguarding the integrity of the healthcare system.
