Swissmedic: Corrigendum to the Good Practice for the Reprocessing of Medical Devices

Swissmedic has published a corrigendum (document link) to rectify errors and update certain information in the 2022 version of the ”Good Practice for the Reprocessing of Medical Devices (Gute Praxis zur Aufbereitung von Medizinprodukten, GPA)”.

Following the entry into force of the new Medical Devices Ordinance (Medizinprodukteverordnung, MedDO) on 26 May 2021, the regulatory requirements applicable to healthcare institutions have been significantly revised. The updated GPA of 2022 replaces the previous version of 2016 and serves as the definitive guideline for the reprocessing of medical devices in hospitals and other healthcare facilities. This guideline was developed in collaboration with the Swiss Society for Sterile Supply (Schweizerische Gesellschaft für Sterilgutversorgung, SGSV), the Swiss Society for Hospital Hygiene (Schweizerische Gesellschaft für Spitalhygiene, SGSH), and Swissmedic.
