FOPH: Discontinuation of KLuG health insurance at the end of 2025
The Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH) is revoking the licence of the KLuG health insurance association to provide social health insurance as of 31 December 2025. To protect the approximately 9’300 insured persons, the FOPH has declared the health insurance company insolvent. This activates the insolvency fund, which will ensure that the benefits of insured persons are paid as soon as KLuG is no longer able to fulfil all its obligations.
In autumn, policyholders will be given the opportunity to switch to Helsana Insurance Ltd, although they may also choose to switch to another health insurance company if they wish.
