FOPH: Revision of the Epidemics Act brings improvements in dealing with health crises
During the Covid-19 pandemic, the Epidemics Act (Epidemiengesetz, EpG) has proven its worth. However, certain adjustments are needed in some areas to improve the prevention and management of future threats to public health. Therefore, the Federal Council is proposing an amendment to the EpG. The revision aims to optimise cooperation between the federal government and the cantons and to effectively combat threats from communicable diseases and antibiotic resistance.
