Swissmedic: Annual Report on Hospital Inspections 2024
Swissmedic has published its annual report on hospital inspections for the year 2024. The report inspects the reprocessing, maintenance and vigilance of medical devices in 23 hospitals in Switzerland. The hospitals were chosen based on a representative procedure, taking account of regional and institutional differences.
The report has revealed weaknesses in all areas of inspection. Therefore, the legal requirements are not fulfilled. However, Swissmedic did not find any direct risk to patients.
