FOPH: Federal Council Opens Consultation on Implementation of Cost Containment Package 2
In March 2025, the Swiss Parliament approved various amendments to the Health Insurance Act (Bundesgesetz über die Krankenversicherung, KVG) to curb rising costs in compulsory health insurance. In this context, the Ordinance on Health Insurance (Verordnung über die Krankenversicherung, KVV) is being revised. Notable changes include adjustments to the reference tariffs for the nationwide free choice of hospital, amendments to the requirements for pharmacists’ laboratories, and the definition of the start of a pregnancy, which can now also be confirmed by midwives.
