FOPH: Federal Council Adopts Measures to Strengthen Medicine Supply
The Federal Council has adopted a strategy to strengthen the supply of essential medicines in Switzerland, aiming to improve monitoring, production, importation, and market access for critical drugs, particularly those used to treat chronic conditions. The approach combines short-, medium-, and long-term measures. These actions respond to persistent shortages, often affecting low-cost and vital medicines, and include a direct counterproposal to a popular initiative. The aim is to ensure reliable access for patients and healthcare providers, while closely coordinating efforts with all key stakeholders.
