Swissmedic: Revision of the Swissmedic Fees Ordinance on 1 July 2026 – New fee schedule for charging by time
The revised Ordinance on the Fees charged by the Swiss Agency for Therapeutic Products (FeeO-Swissmedic; SR 812.214.5) enters into force on 1 July 2026. As announced in the Federal Council's media release of 28 May 2026, the revision introduces, in particular, a registration fee for medical devices and an increase in the rate for work charged on an hourly basis. Clarifying its implementation, Swissmedic stated that the time-based charging under art. 4 para. 2 FeeO-Swissmedic changes with effect from 1 July 2026 to the new hourly rate of CHF 270, while the existing rate of CHF 200 continues to apply to services provided up to 30 June 2026; for ongoing procedures, the date on which the service is provided is decisive for charging purposes.
